Maryland’s First Dome Glamping Opens at Deep Creek Lake

Maryland’s first geodesic dome glamping destination has officially launched at Deep Creek Lake. Bumblebee RV Park & Campground, under Bumblebee Management, now offers the Beehive Domes, a luxury camping experience in the heart of nature. This innovative project combines scenic beauty with high-end amenities, catering to travelers seeking nature without giving up comfort.

Each dome offers a queen-sized bed, a private bathroom, a full kitchen, and a personal sauna. The design blends comfort and wilderness, offering a rare escape in Maryland’s western mountains. Guests can enjoy the serenity of nature while relaxing in modern, cozy surroundings.

Tony Jia, CEO and Co-founder of Bumblebee Management, expressed pride in the accomplishment. He highlighted the uniqueness of dome glamping structures in Maryland, which required strict regulatory approval. According to Jia, close collaboration with local and state authorities made this dream a reality.

Moreover, the project has been warmly welcomed by the DMV community. Many have shown interest in this new way of camping, which is far from traditional tenting. The destination appeals especially to those who once avoided outdoor stays due to inconvenience or discomfort.

Victor Esch, COO of Bumblebee, shared his personal connection to the project. He recalled frequent childhood camping trips and emphasized how gratifying it feels to introduce camping to a broader audience. Esch believes the blend of modern amenities and natural calm is key to attracting new campers.

The current launch is just Phase 1 of a much larger development plan. The Montgomery County–based team now looks ahead to Phase 2. Plans include modular housing solutions and consulting for builders and campground developers. Early interest has accelerated the next phase, signaling a shift in how people experience nature.

With Deep Creek Lake as a backdrop, the destination offers a rejuvenating getaway for solo travelers, couples, and families. While offering luxury, it remains rooted in the outdoor spirit. Bumblebee’s approach prioritizes experience, sustainability, and innovation.
