The Laver Cup Will Witness Rodger Federer Appearance After a Year Long Retirement

Along with the US Open in the month of September, it’s time for Laver Cup. Tennis fans across the globe have recognised and rooted for this competition even though it has been around for a short period of time. Especially for being the only event that put the Big Three in one group, as teammates and double mates as well. 

For the sixth year, Laver cup will be back in September, this time prepared to awe the fans of the sport in Vancouver, Canada. The greatest news for all Tennis fans is that Rodger Federer, after a year of his retirement will be at the event in London’s O2 Arena, he revealed that he will be back as a blockbuster celebration awaits. 

The event will take place between September 22 and 24, Federer has cut the ribbon for the promotions with a short clip that he posted on social media, bringing the information to his fans, that he will make an appearance in Canada for the first day of the 2023 Laver Cup. The organisers of the event are all set to commemorate the anniversary of his retirement. 

Federer played his last tennis in 2021 Wimbledon, but remained on the sidelines with knee injury and was due to return in September 2022. And as his Fans waited for his recovery, praying for him, he prolonged the recovery period before finally declaring that he would be retiring from the sport after his final appearance at Laver Cup in the presence of his biggest rivals of his career – Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

Federer appeared in only one match, a double alongside Nadal, where he lost to Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock, thus marking an end to his career.
