Team Canada is poised to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, which are just a week away from beginning in the French capital.
Over 300 Canadian athletes across 32 sports will be vying for medals in Paris over the fortnight.
Interest in this year’s Summer Games, which occur once every four years, is on the rise, according to recent Ipsos polling exclusive to Global News.
Nearly six in ten respondents expressed interest in the Paris Olympics, significantly higher than previous surveys showing 32 per cent interest in the 2022 Beijing Games and 33 per cent for the 2020 Tokyo Games.

When do the Olympics start?
The Games will officially commence on 26 July with the opening ceremony, but some competitions will begin on 24 July.
In a departure from tradition, the opening ceremony, starting at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, will take place not in a stadium but along the River Seine.
The ceremony will feature more than 10,000 athletes parading on boats along the Seine.
The Olympics will conclude on 11 August with the closing ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Paralympic Games will run later from 28 August to 8 September.
What is the Paris 2024 schedule?
Canada’s Olympic journey will begin on 25 July with the Canadian women’s soccer team facing New Zealand in a Group A match.
Swimming events will be held from 27 July to 4 August.
Athletics events will start on 1 August and continue until the final day of the Games on 11 August.

Breakdancing, also known as breaking, an urban dance style rooted in hip-hop culture, will make its Olympic debut in Paris.
