The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is gearing up to celebrate its 24th Foundation Day on September 27, coinciding with World Tourism Day. To mark this special occasion, IRCTC is rolling out a series of exciting offers for air travelers, making it even more convenient and affordable to explore the world.

As part of the festivities, IRCTC has launched a multi-modal transport ticket booking service, encompassing railway, roadways, and air travel, all in one place. One of the highlights of IRCTC’s Foundation Day celebration is the convenience fee waivers for customers who are booking domestic and international flight tickets through its website from September 25 to September 27. In addition to the convenience fee waiver, IRCTC is offering further discounts of up to Rs. 2000 on air tickets for card transactions from various banks. These offers come just in time for the upcoming festive season, making it an opportune moment for customers to secure air tickets for their planned vacations and the approaching New Year.
What sets IRCTC Air apart is its user-friendly features, which simplify flight searches, price comparisons, and ticket bookings for both round and multi-city trips. Moreover, IRCTC Air caters to defense personnel with special defense fares and offers LTC tickets for government officials. As an added benefit, the company provides a travel insurance policy worth Rs 50 Lakhs on each air ticket booked through its portal, ensuring peace of mind for travelers.
Healthy Earnings
Meanwhile, in the financial arena, IRCTC reported impressive figures for the quarter ending June 2023. Net Sales amounted to Rs 1,001.79 crore, reflecting a substantial 17.5% increase compared to the figure of Rs 852.59 crore reported in June 2022. Despite a slight dip in Quarterly Net Profit, which reached Rs 232.22 crore in June 2023 (a decrease of 5.42% from June 2022), IRCTC’s EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) stood strong at Rs 382.20 crore for June 2023, marking a 10.67% rise from the Rs 345.35 crore recorded in June 2022. The Earnings Per Share (EPS) for IRCTC decreased slightly to Rs 2.90 in June 2023, down from Rs 3.07 reported in June 2022.
