Australia Won over Bangladesh in T20 World Cup

by admin

Australia won women’s cricket against Bangladesh by 8 wickets at the Women’s T20 World Cup on Tuesday in Cape Town, South Africa. The winning credit is honored to Australian legspinner Georgia Wareham who made every possible to defend this championship for more than a year. It is the biggest achievement for the winning team.

Now Australia join Sri Lanka with 2 wins from two in Group 1 and went back to the top on net run rate. The Australian team experienced ease in their chase, with 111-2 in 18,2 overs and led home by captain Meg Lanning. Georgia Wareham who is a crucial player for the team limited Bangladesh to 107-7, where only captain Nigar Sultana’s 57 runs from 50 balls stood out. After winning this match, they are now seeking a 3rd title.

Wareham had a long way to return to international women’s cricket, as previously, she had suffered from a brutal rupture of a ligament in her left knee for more than a year. Her outstanding comeback as a spinner made her chase the wickets of Rumana Ahmed with 4 runs, Shobhana Mostary with 7 runs, and Shorna Akter with 12 runs. Australia took the match in their hand in Bangladesh’s middle order and never relinquished it in the first game of the World Cup in Gqeberha, the City called Port Elizabeth.

India has participated in the auction and Mandhana is a most important and expensive player with a great sports spirit to be bought at the Women’s Premier League. India is also in action against West Indies and may join England with two wins from Group 2. It is expected to be boosted by Mandhana to come back after an injured finger during the match with Pakistan. The two leading teams from each of the preliminary groups approach directly to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup. The following teams currently leading are Australia, Sri Lanka, England, and India.
