A major outage of Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) on Saturday left tens of thousands of gamers unable to access online services, stores, and multimedia apps.
“We are aware some users might be experiencing issues with PSN,” PlayStation acknowledged on social media, responding to widespread complaints from frustrated players across the globe.
Reports of connectivity problems quickly spread on social media, with users encountering error messages and login failures. “PSN going down on a Friday night should be illegal,” posted a London-based user named Ramos on X, formerly Twitter.
According to the outage-tracking site Downdetector, users began reporting PSN issues late on Friday. Shortly after, Sony confirmed the disruption but provided no details on its cause.
Sony’s official website confirmed ongoing problems with PlayStation Network services. The PlayStation support page stated that “some services are experiencing issues,” affecting account management, gaming and social services, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct.
